Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood Offers Families Free Female Genital Mutilation To “Preserve Chastity”…

Via: Zip

CAIRO: A number of Egyptian human rights groups have submitted a communication to the Attorney General Abdel Meguid Mahmoud against the Muslim Brotherhood`s political arm, the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) to investigate the complaints of people in the village of Abu Aziz in the Minya governorate, south of Cairo, over the existence of a large medical convoy organized by the party that wanders streets and does medical examination on people, including female circumcision, or female genital mutilation, in violation of Egyptian law, conventions and treaties signed by Egypt.

In Egypt’s legal code, Female Genital Mutilation is criminalized, as well as the inciting by doctors to convince families of the young girls of the need to agree to circumcise their daughters, “as a matter of preserving chastity.”

The communication demanded Mervat Tallawy, the head of the National Council for Women (NCW) and Major General Seraj EL Din El Rouby, the Governor of Minya, and Nasr El Sayed , Assistant Minister for primary health care, and preventive medicine, and family planning, to intervene to stop what it called “a farce propaganda for free circumcision, which was organized by one of the political parties, in Minya governorate to promote circumcision.”

The communication came after reports were circulated on news websites and social networking websites, including Facebook and Twitter about a convoy organized by the FJP to promote circumcision among girls in Minya.

Palestinians Fire 100 Qassam And Grad Rockets At Southern Israel…

As always, the “peace-loving” Palestinians will get a free pass from the left.

(JPost) — Palestinian terrorists in Gaza targeted cities, towns, and farming regions in southern Israel with waves of rockets throughout Friday and Saturday, setting off air raid sirens and injuring eight people

One hundred rockets — Kassams and the longer-range Grads — were fired by midday Saturday at civilian regions. Of those, the Iron Dome anti-rocket system intercepted 25 projectiles heading directly into city centers in Ashdod, Beersheba and Ashkelon. Seventy-five rockets exploded in Israeli territory, most of them in open fields. The barrage came after the IAF foiled a major terror attack, killing the secretary general of the Popular Resistance Committees, Zuhair Qaisi.

Eight people were injured on Friday evening. In the Eshkol Regional Council, a 40-year-old man was seriously injured from rocket shrapnel, a second man was moderately injured by shrapnel in his stomach, and a third was lightly injured. Paramedics said the injured were foreign workers. An electric pole and a vehicle were also damaged in the same area.

The seriously injured man was airlifted to the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba, and remains in critical condition.

Two people were lightly injured in a car accident that occurred during an air raid siren at the Emunim Junction between Ashdod and Ashkelon on Friday evening.

Three other people in the South were lightly injured while fleeing for cover during sirens. One civilian was treated for shock. The injured were taken to the Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot and the Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon for treatment.

Police bomb squad units moved from one explosion site to another seeking to ensure that the fallen rockets did not pose a further threat to the public.

The rocket barrages tapered off at around 3 a.m., but resumed again on Saturday morning, when air raid sirens rang out in Beersheba and Ashdod.

TERROR EMBEDS: TALIBAN DEFENSE ATTORNEY NOW NO. 3 AT OBAMA DOJ

Our  treacherous regime at work. This is one of scores of subversive and dangerous appointments by an adminstration at war with America.

via Al Qaeda Defense Atty. No. 3 At Obama DOJ | Judicial Watch.

In a scary development, a major Obama fundraiser who defended a convicted al Qaeda terrorist will become the third highest ranking official at the Department of Justice (DOJ), which, ironically, is charged with defending the interests of the United States.

Northern California lawyer Tony West has been named Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division, making him the No. 3 guy at the agency. In 2009 West, who helped Obama raise tens of millions of dollars as finance co-chairman of his first presidential campaign, was appointed to help run the DOJ’s civil division which represents the government, Congress and presidential cabinet officers and handles cases dealing with significant policy issues.

In a statement announcing the promotion this week, Attorney General Eric Holder says West has served the department with “professionalism, integrity and dedication.” Holder also mentions West’s work before coming to the DOJ a few years ago, including a stint as a Special Assistant Attorney General in California and a lengthier career at a large San Francisco law firm.

Conveniently omitted in the press release is that West represented convicted al Qaeda terrorist John Walker Lindh, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence. Lindh was captured in Afghanistan in 2001 while fighting against the U.S.-backed Northern Alliance as a member of the Taliban army. He actually pleaded guilty to aiding the Taliban and carrying explosives while fighting U.S. troops in the region.

Holder also knows a thing or two about defending terrorists. After all, he was a senior partner in a prestigious Washington D.C. law firm (Covington & Burling) that represented more than a dozen Yemeni terrorists held at the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo Bay Cuba. While Holder was a senior partner the firm employed a number of radical attorneys to provide the Islamic extremists with thousands of hours of free legal representation, according to a news report.

Another highlight in Holder’s resume is that he orchestrated Bill Clinton’s shameful last-minute pardons, including that of a fugitive financier and a pair of jailed domestic terrorists. In fact, shortly after the pardon scandal, Holder predicted that his public career was over. Under his leadership the DOJ has been embroiled in a number of high-profile scandals, including a gun-running operation (Fast and Furious) in which weapons were sold to Mexican drug cartels. One was later used to murder a federal agent. Judicial Watch has sued the DOJ to obtain records involving the operation.

Terrorist Fears Will Force Obama to Send Troops to the Border

Big Government, by Chriss W. Street

America and Iran have been involved in a covert war for many years over Iran’s efforts to geopolitically dominate the Middle East. Fearing the political and financial costs of sustaining protracted military actions against Iran, the Obama Administration has cranked up a covert program of assassinations, cyber-attacks and support for Syrian “freedom fighters” to frustrate Iran’s ambitions.

But given the Administration’s pandering to Hispanic voters by allowing loose enforcement of immigration laws against “undocumented workers”, there is a growing political danger that Democrats will be destroyed if Iranian agents with the help of Mexican narco-smugglers successfully sneak a biological or dirty bomb across the border before the November elections. Consequently, I believe the Obama Administration will send thousands of U.S. infantrymen to the Mexican border to cut off illegal alien crossings.

It is suspected that Iran has financed infiltration of “sleeper cell” agents into the United States. Hosam Maher Husein Smadi was arrested by the FBI in Dallas in 2009 while trying to plant a bomb to blow up a 60 story glass tower in downtown Dallas. Texas, with 1,254 miles of the 1,900-mile-long U.S.-Mexico border, has always been the hotbed for “illegal alien” crossings. The mostly rural Texas border communities are some of the poorest regions in our nation. If counties along the border comprised our 51st state, it would rank last in per capita personal income and first in poverty and unemployment. Consequently, human and drug trafficking are the border’s biggest industry.

Obama Admin Resumes “Secret” Talks With Taliban…

Via: Zip: I can’t even imagine how demoralizing this must be for our troops on the front lines.

(Fox News) – The U.S. and Afghan governments have begun secret three-way talks with the Taliban, Afghan President Hamid Karzai told The Wall Street Journal, disclosing an important breakthrough in efforts to end the 10-year war.

Mr. Karzai, whose government had protested being left out of recent talks between Washington and the insurgents, added he believes most Taliban are “definitively” interested in a peace settlement.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai: ‘People in Afghanistan want peace, including the Taliban. They’re also people like we all are. They have families, they have relatives, they have children, they are suffering a tough time.

“There have been contacts between the U.S. government and the Taliban, there have been contacts between the Afghan government and the Taliban, and there have been some contacts that we have made, all of us together, including the Taliban,” Mr. Karzai said in the interview Wednesday in his office at the Arg Palace in Kabul.

Meetings between Taliban emissaries and the U.S. in recent months have centered on opening a Taliban office in the Persian Gulf emirate of Qatar, and on confidence-building measures such as a possible transfer to Qatar of Taliban detainees held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, U.S. and Taliban officials said.

GAFFNEY: Enemy inside the wire

Shariah front groups now oversee fed’s counterextremism training

Washington Times, Frank Gaffney

English: This is a logo for Muslim Brotherhood...

This brings us to the alarming guidelines recently promulgated by theDepartment of Homeland Security for training on countering violence. Under the heading “Trainers should be expert and well-regarded,” the department directs that a “prospective trainer’s resume be “check[ed] with knowledgeable community leaders.” Unfortunately, it appears that as far as the Obama administration is concerned, such “leaders” are exclusively those associated with organizations that the federal government and the Muslim Brotherhood itself have identified as MBfronts.

The department’s guidelines also direct that “training should be sensitive to constitutional values.” To that end, it requires that “federal, state and local government and law enforcement officials organizing CVE training … review the training program to ensure that:

  • “It uses examples to demonstrate that terrorists and violent extremists vary in ethnicity, race, gender and religion.
  • “Training should focus on behavior, not appearance or membership in particular ethnic or religious communities.
  • “Training should support the protection of civil rights and civil liberties as part of national security. Don’t use training that equates religious expression, protests or other constitutionally protected activity with criminal activity.”

In other words, Muslim Brotherhood-associated persons are being afforded the opportunity to veto the use of trainers who might actually understand the nature of the danger its operatives and organizations pose to our country. And those who are allowed to train are not permitted to focus their students on the actual threat emanating from a subset of the Muslim community. Rather, they must promote the notion that there are really no indicators in belief or nationality that can help the authorities apply limited security resources in a sensibly prioritized manner.

Some try to excuse this behavior as nothing more than being “sensitive,” “tolerant” or “politically correct.” The danger is that Shariah-adherent Muslims regard such conduct as submissive and, according to their doctrine, they are obliged to redouble their efforts to, as the Koran puts it, make us “feel subdued.” That means more violence, not less.

That prospect becomes all the greater when one adds into the mix the presence of government officials who are themselves tied to the Muslim Brotherhood and its Shariah doctrine, including those in senior positions in the White House, the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security. Such persons are products of and greatly facilitate the Brothers’ influence operations and contribute greatly to our failure to date to recognize, let alone counteract, them.

If we would not have won the Cold War had the KGB been able to call the shots here, we surely will not prevail if we allow the Muslim Brotherhood to do the same in the struggle against today’s totalitarian ideology, Shariah – a doctrine some have dubbed “communism with a god.” Congressional oversight is urgently needed to prevent this from happening.

Frank J. Gaffney Jr. is president of the Center for Security Policy, a columnist for The Washington Times and host of the nationally syndicated program “Secure Freedom Radio,” heard in Washington weekdays at 9 p.m. on WRC-AM 1260.

Inspire: Al Qaeda Magazine Praises Middle Eastern Revolutions – Warning to the West

keywiki

Cross-posting from the New Zeal blog

“Inspire” is an English language online magazine reported to be published by the organization Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). The English language glossy magazine is extremely well produced and is aimed at U.S. and European audiences.

The magazine is thought to be the work of Anwar al-Awlaki, an English-speaking cleric and al-Qaeda leader based in Yemen. Awlaki is currently on the United States’ “kill or capture” list.

The editorial in Inspire’s March 2011 issue, signed by one Yahya Ibrahim, analyzes recent turmoil in the Middle East, and consequences for Al Qaeda, Israel and the West.

Al Qaeda sees the recent uprisings across the region as opening up new opportunities to attack Israel.

Al Qaeda and the Arabic community or “ummah” plan to “meet” in the sacred Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

The editorial does not make comforting reading, for those who think “democracy” is “sweeping the Arab world”.

The cover of this issue is about the Tsunami of change that is sweeping the Arab world. With the removal of the despots, the ummah will speak its voice, and when it does, it will chant: Here we start and in al-Aqsa we’ll meet.

The biggest barrier between the mujahidin and freeing al-Aqsa were the tyrant rulers. Now that the friends of America and Israel are being mopped out one after the other, our aspirations are great that the path between us and al-Aqsa is clearing up.

There could be no freeing of Palestine with the presence of the likes of King Abdullah to the East, Hosni Mubarak to the West and al-Saud to the South. Now that Hosni is gone, we heard the Imam of the Friday prayers praying: “O Allah we ask you to allow us to meet in al-Aqsa,” and the millions inTahrir square roared with one voice: Âmîn.

The issue of Palestine is central to the Muslim ummah and now that the masses have spoken, there is no doubt that it will be back to the forefront.

The friends of the West are leaving, the issue of Palestine will be back on the table, the preaching of jihad for the defense of the Muslim ummah will be heard publicly in societies that have freed themselves from the tyrants, and we pray that the heavy handed security measures imposed by the despots to keep America and its allies safe and keep their populations terrorized will be over.

The West has publicly stated its support for the revolution of the masses. But do they really mean it? Or is it because they do not realize the reality of what is happening? Or is it just because they feel that they must join the bandwagon?

The West also believes that the revolts are bad for al Qaeda. This is not the case. Why would the freedoms being granted to the people be bad for al Qaeda? If freedom is so bad for al Qaeda, how come the West has been practicing a restriction on the freedoms of expression when it comes to the message of the mujahidin? Why does the West ban the spread of books and talks of the al Qaeda leadership and in some countries consider it to be a crime to be in possession of such material? Why did the U.S. request from a site such as YouTube to take off lectures by Shaykh Anwar al-Awlaki?

Another line that is being pushed by Western leaders is that because the protests in Egypt and Tunisia were peaceful, they proved al Qaeda – which calls for armed struggle – to be wrong. That is another fallacy. Al Qaeda is not against regime changes through protests but it is against the idea that the change should be only through peaceful means to the exclusion of the use of force. In fact Shaykh Ayman al-Zawahiri spoke in support of the protests that swept Egypt back in 2007 and he alluded to the fact that even if the protests were peaceful, the people need to prepare themselves militarily.

The accuracy of this view is proven by the turn of events in Libya. If the protesters in Libya did not have the flexibility to use force when needed, the uprising would have been crushed.

It is our opinion that the revolutions that are shaking the thrones of dictators are good for the Muslims, good for the mujahidin and bad for the imperialists of the West and their henchmen in the Muslim world.

We are very optimistic and have great expectations of what is to come.

I hope this editorial is widely circulated. Western military resources are being risked and tax money being wasted to “liberate” Libya. The West has stood by, even offered encouragement, while Islamic and socialist extremists have toppled or endangered several pro-Western, or moderate regimes in the Middle East.

These revolutions are not about “democracy”. They are about bringing anti-Western extremists to power in every nation in the region.

Israel, and other Western nations could suffer horrendous consequences if this madness is not reversed.

We should take our enemy at his word.

AL QAEDA PLANTS ITS FLAG IN LIBYA

By Sherif Elhelwa

It was here at the courthouse in Benghazi where the first spark of the Libyan revolution ignited. It’s the symbolic seat of the revolution; post-Gaddafi Libya’s equivalent of Egypt’s Tahrir Square. And it was here, in the tumultuous months of civil war, that the ragtag rebel forces established their provisional government and primitive, yet effective, media center from which to tell foreign journalists about their “fight for freedom.”

But according to multiple eyewitnesses—myself included—one can now see both the Libyan rebel flag and the flag of al Qaeda fluttering atop Benghazi’s courthouse.

According to one Benghazi resident, Islamists driving brand-new SUVs and waving the black al Qaeda flag drive the city’s streets at night shouting, “Islamiya, Islamiya! No East, nor West,” a reference to previous worries that the country would be bifurcated between Gaddafi opponents in the east and the pro-Gaddafi elements in the west.

334073_10150903903270451_868165450_21715212_728016733_o

Earlier this week, I went to the Benghazi courthouse and confirmed the rumors: an al Qaeda flag was clearly visible; its Arabic script declaring that “there is no God but Allah” and a full moon underneath. When I tried to take pictures, a Salafi-looking guard, wearing a green camouflage outfit, rushed towards me and demanded to know what I was doing. My response was straightforward: I was taking a picture of the flag. He gave me an intimidating look and hissed, “Whomever speaks ill of this flag, we will cut off his tongue. I recommend that you don’t publish these. You will bring trouble to yourself.”

photo6

He followed me inside the courthouse, but luckily my driver Khaled was close by, and interceded on my behalf. According to Khaled, the guard had angrily threatened to harm me. When I again engaged him in conversation, he told me “this flag is the true flag of Islam,” and was unresponsive when I argued with him that historically Islam has never been represented by a single flag. The guard claimed repeatedly that there is no al Qaeda in Libya, and that the flag flying atop the courthouse is “dark black,” while the al Qaeda flag is charcoal black. To many locals, it’s a distinction without a difference. One man approached me with a friendly warning: “I recommend that you leave now; [the Islamist fighters] could be watching you.”

But none of this should be surprising. In Tripoli, Abdelhakim Belhaj, a well-known al Qaeda fighter and founder of the notorious Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), is now leading the rebel “military counsel” in Tripoli. A few weeks ago, Belhaj ordered his fighters to take command of the Tripoli airport, then controlled by a group of Zintan fighters, a brigade of Berber Libyans who helped liberate the capital from Gaddafi loyalists. A few days later, Belhaj gave a speech emphasizing that his actions had the blessings of Libya’s National Transitional Counsel (NTC), who appointed him to the leadership of Tripoli’s military command.

According to a Libyan who didn’t want to be named, a special military group inside the NTC is calling on Salafi fighters with military backgrounds to join a special group fighting in the rebellion. “There will be special benefits if you join whether you die in battle, or when you return home,” including monthly salaries. (One NTC source told me that Belhaj’s fighters are the only rebel fighters who receive a monthly salary.)

photo31

In a recent speech heralding the new beginning of post-Gaddafi Libya, Moustafa Abdeljalil, the head of the NTC, declared the country an “Islamic state, and sharia law is the source of all our laws.” It was indeed an odd declaration for a leader celebrating his country’s liberation, leading many to wonder: Who are Abdeljalil and the NTC trying to appease?

It isn’t uncommon to discover rebels with radical backgrounds. In an off-the-record interview, one NTC member spoke casually of his past, explaining that the Gaddafi regime blacklisted him from the country for his ties to LIFG. He told me of his close association with Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, the infamous “blind cleric” jailed for his involvement in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, who he helped ferry across the borders of Pakistan and Afghanistan during the mujahedeen fight against the Soviet Union.

The war to rid the country of the Gaddafi dictatorship might have ended, but the battle for control of post-revolutionary Libya has only just begun. And it will surprise few that assorted radicals, jihadists, Salafists, and LIFG veterans are attempting to fill the power vacuum and replace one dictatorship with another.

Meet the guys who kicked the Gaddafi regime out of the Benghazi courthouse in our Rebels of Libya documentary.
