It seems illegal alien issues just can’t stay out of the news these days…
After President Obama added insult to injury last week by topping his order for ICE to virtually stop deporting illegal aliens with calling for them to get citizenship in his State of the Union address (see last week’s letter) – now, another state is poised to join Texas in subsidizing college tuition for illegal aliens.
This is yet another issue of vital importance in the illegal alien debate. Giving an inch anywhere will continue to unravel the fabric of this nation and our proud heritage of legal immigrants who built this country into what it was.
The University of Colorado Board of Regents will be considering a resolution on 1 February 2012 to support Colorado Senate Bill 12-015, which would subsidize college tuition for illegal aliens.

Not only would this be disastrous for budgetary reasons (Colorado is already facing a budget crunch), but it would set a precedent for other states (or even another Subsidizing college tuition for illegals?
Federal government mandate) to open the door for yet more illegals to enjoy the benefits of a college education at U.S. taxpayer expense.
(Ironically, the illegal aliens gaining a college degree with taxpayer subsidies still won’t be able to legally get a job on graduation – which will of course set the stage for even more calls for “amnesty”).
If it can happen in Colorado, it can happen anywhere.
SB12-015 (granting a subsidized tuition rate for illegal alien residents in Colorado) has already passed through the Colorado State Senate, and is waiting on assignment to a committee in the Colorado House. If assigned to the Education Committee, it will likely pass out of committee and stand a decent probability of passing the full House, with the support of the CU Board of Regents providing cover, and Democrat Governor John Hickenlooper will sign this terrible policy into law.
Despite the Republican majority on the CU Board, real conservatives are in the minority – as the Board’s vote on the tuition subsidy for illegals shows – but elections this year could shift the balance.
Only one candidate for the upcoming University of Colorado Board of Regents (At-Large) election – the only statewide race in Colorado this year – has stood up publicly to oppose this legislation. His name is Matt Arnold, and for more information, you can visit www.arnold4colorado.net. Look for an upcoming issue brief discussing in-state tuition for illegal aliens in the coming weeks on his website.
Help prevent the expansion of subsidized tuition for illegals in Colorado – establishing a beachhead for subsidized tuition in other states, or even a new Federal mandate. Contact Colorado Speaker of the House Frank McNulty at 303-866-2346 and ask him to kill this bad bill… and make sure it doesn’t come up in your state.
