His first job in politics was one he got because the woman vacating it supported him. She was a communist and they only support those who support their cause. Currently, the percentage of “blind” thinking outweighs the positive and constructive interaction. While getting my degree in nursing school, I remember a class in which we studied the psychological ploys that are used in advertizing to attract our attention and influence our thinking towards products. It scares me that too many of my countrymen are not aware of these things! We MUST put considerable time into studying and thinking independently if we are to correct our countries course.

In 2004, I was with several dozen WW2, Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq War vets, campaigning for John Kerry, when one of our number waved a poster of President Bush with a Hitler mustache. Immediately, one of the Korea vets said to “Take it down! You may disagree with the man, but I must insist that you respect the Office of the President of the United States.” John McCain is the only member of your party who sometimes seems to understand this.

There was a time when members of Congress could disagree without being disagreeable, had friends across the aisle, and could reach compromises to serve the best interests or OUR nation. I am not surprised but I know not of many of them. Barney Frank and many other actions fit the model. But two listed of whom I am very familiar have long stated that the Democratic Party, in fact the country as a whole should operate in a Socialist fashion. Those two: Hon. John Conyers (MI-14), whose wife, former Detroit City Councilwoman Monica Conyers, was convicted of bribery and sentenced to spend the next three in prison and Hon. Carolyn Kilpatrick (MI-13) whose son Kwame Malik Kilpatrick, former mayor of Detroit, was convicted of a multitude of crimes and is still plagued by numerous scandals without sufficient evidence or willing/alive witnesses have both stated that the socialistic goals of redistributive taxation in the form of social welfare and government regulation of capital within the framework of a market economy should be achieved.
