Everything about Barack Obama is an enormous tapestry of lies woven from interlocking fictions spun from false narrative threads, wrapping and obscuring a dark, poisonous web of malice. An agenda concocted from the depths of Morhdor and wickedly implemented. Given, he is a robber baron politician, worthy of designer torches and gold-plated pitchforks, his deceptions are much worse than surface glitter. They go all the way back to his beginnings, when he was ‘selected’ for his political sainthood. An agenda to bring ‘change’ to America, do away with the Constitution and bring totalitarian rule to the US, enforced with an iron fist.

Barack’s story is coming unraveled, but is it by design or incompetence? Nothing is ever what it seems in this political game. First, Hannity and The Blaze came forward with an interview between Ed Klein and the Reverend Jeremiah Wright outing Obama on bribery and political corruption. More to come on that I’m sure. Read the book The Amateur: Barack Obama in The White House. Then Drudge and Breitbart splashed the political blogosphere with the headline that Obama’s publicist in 1991 had a blurb up on Obama being born in Kenya and then raised in Indonesia and Hawaii. The publicist claimed it was a ‘fact checking error,’ but evidently, it’s an error that happened again and again and again. In fact, according to WND, that blurb was still up in 2007. Between Arpaio contesting the birth certificate and this, the birther movement is gaining more and more credibility.

While I believe that the ‘birth certificate’ issue is legitimate, I believe it is being used as a political weapon of distraction to deter Americans from keeping their eye on what is really going on economically, militarily and Constitutionally. All we know definitively is that Obama is a liar – about everything. I would ask him if he was lying then or if he’s lying now, but I suspect it is both. Being from Africa gives Obama street cred, just like being a radical and a Progressive does.

When it comes to conspiracies, I’m an Occam’s Razor man. The more obvious explanation of the variable first line in the eternally shifting sands of Obama’s biography is that, rather than pretending to have been born in Hawaii, he’s spent much of his life pretending to have been born in Kenya.

After all, if your first book is an exploration of racial identity and has the working title “Journeys In Black And White,” being born in Hawaii doesn’t really help. It’s entirely irrelevant to the twin pillars of contemporary black grievance – American slavery and European imperialism. To 99.99 percent of people, Hawaii is a luxury vacation destination and nothing else.

Whereas Kenya puts you at the heart of what, in an otherwise notably orderly decolonization process by the British, was a bitter and violent struggle against the white man’s rule. Cool! The composite chicks dig it, and the literary agents.

And where’s the harm in it? Everybody does it – at least in the circles in which Obama hangs. At Harvard Law School, where young Barack was “the first African-American president of The Harvard Law Review,” there’s no end of famous firsts: As The Fordham Law Review reported, “Harvard Law School hired its first woman of color, Elizabeth Warren, in 1995.” There is no evidence that Mrs. Warren, now the Democrats’ Senate candidate, is anything other than 100 percent white. She walks like a white, quacks like a white, looks whiter than white. She’s the whitest white since Frosty the Snowman fell in a vat of Wite-Out. But she “self-identified” as Cherokee, so that makes her a “woman of color.” Why, back in 1984 she submitted some of her favorite dishes to the “Pow Wow Chow” cookbook, a “compilation of recipes passed down through the Five Tribes families.”

Even Obama’s name was crafted:

“I suppose he’d had the name ready for a long time, even then,” says Nick Carraway in “The Great Gatsby.” “His parents were shiftless and unsuccessful farm people – his imagination had never really accepted them as his parents at all. The truth was that Jay Gatsby of West Egg, Long Island, sprang from his Platonic conception of himself… . So he invented just the sort of Jay Gatsby that a seventeen-year-old boy would be likely to invent, and to this conception he was faithful to the end.”

In a post-modern America, the things that Gatsby attempted to fake – an elite schooling – Obama actually had; the things that Gatsby attempted to obscure – the impoverished roots – merely add to Obama’s luster. Gatsby claimed to have gone to Oxford, but nobody knew him there because he never went; Obama had a million bucks’ worth of elite education at Occidental, Columbia and Harvard Law, and still nobody knew him (“Fox News contacted some 400 of his classmates and found no one who remembered him”). In that sense, Obama out-Gatsbys Gatsby: His “shiftless and unsuccessful” relatives – the deportation-dodging aunt on public housing in Boston, the DWI undocumented uncle, the $12-a-year brother back in Nairobi – are useful props in his story, the ever more vivid bit-players as the central character swims ever more out of focus, but they don’t seem to know him either. The more autobiographies he writes, the less anybody knows.

Like Gatsby presiding over his wild, lavish parties, Obama is aloof and remote: let everyone else rave deliriously; he just has to be. He is, in his way, the apotheosis of the Age of American Incredibility. When just being who you are anyway is an incredible accomplishment, Obama managed to run and win on biography almost entirely unmoored from life. But then, like Gatsby, he knew a thing or two about “the unreality of reality.”

And America fell for it, hook, line and ‘sinker.’ We put a Communist in the White House and painted DC red.

I also have severe doubts about Obama’s claim to be a Christian. The Jeremiah Wright tapes bring that to the forefront as well. Wright said that he “made it comfortable” for Obama to accept Christianity “without having to renounce his Islamic background.” Why should we doubt that? Read that again – the meaning there is as plain as day.

Then you have Obama’s militant wife. Both the Obamas, in my opinion, are hardcore racists. They support race wars; they support Islam and they hate America and her ideals. How’s that for blunt?

Obama’s college records have never been released and in fact, we know very little about his time in college. There could certainly be a smoking gun in all that. But, the “watchdog” Fourth Estate has hushed it up like everything else about Obama.

More and ongoing media failures such as:

  • His Communist mentor, Frank Marshall Davis.
  • His real relationship with Bill Ayers and Ayers’ father.
  • His real relationship with George Soros.
  • His military intentions.
  • His ties with the unions.
  • The facts on his family and his girlfriends. Especially family in Africa.
  • His connections with Democratic Socialists of America and other radical Communist groups.
  • Who his benefactors are – i.e. who paid for his education? Who donated to his campaigns?
  • Why he disses (actually hates) Israel and puts all Islamic countries first in his actions.
  • How much has been spent (in detail) on trips and vacations.
  • What do his finances really entail?
  • Who really wrote his books?
  • His ties with Russia and China.

I want to know all that and more. I want to know who ‘selected’ him as Farrakhan put it in the Wright tapes. What groups and individuals are running this show? Why aren’t his actions considered treasonous and at the very least merit a congressional investigation into his background and his actions? How is it that a man who could never begin to pass a background check has become the most powerful man in the world? I don’t want verbal effigies, I want him vetted completely and then held accountable along with all in his sphere of influence, especially his Cabinet and his czars. Include the Democrat Party while you are at it, with special emphasis on the Congressional Progressive Congress.

Reverend Wright’s revelations could bring Obama down. Obama’s chickens may indeed be coming home to roost.

Considering his violations of the Constitution and the invocation of Executive Orders, there is a monumental case for impeachment here. Chicago corruption has been brought into our White House. The fiction of Barack Obama will go down in infamy as the ultimate enemy within.

SOMALI MUSLIM IMMIGRANTS turning American small towns into Islamic welfare enclaves

Newly arrived Somali immigrants flock to small towns and cities such as Lewiston, Maine; Shelbyville, Tennessee, St. Cloud, Minnesota, Clarkston, Georgia, and Jamestown, North Dakota, where they head straight for the local welfare office.

The Jamestown Sun reports that 400 Somalis have applied for public housing in the past four months. The Somali immigrants in Garden City, Kansas and nearby small towns have created the Somali Community Center of Southwest Kansas in order to tap into public welfare programs. Within this section of the heartland, white Christians have become the minority.

In East San Diego, the newly arrived Somalis have created a Little Mogadishu. The streets are lined with Somali stores, shops, and mosques. In the midst of this ethnic enclave stands the Iftin Charter School, where K-8 students are introduced to Arabic. 99% of the student population is Somali; Arabs constitute the remaining 1%.

The American Somalis now display the highest unemployment and poverty rates in the country. They also remain the least educated. According to Andrew Liepman, the deputy director of intelligence at the National Counterterrorism Center, Somali-Americans face “greater insularity compared to other, more integrated Muslim immigrant communities, [which] has aggravated the challenge of assimilation for their children.”

This problem is crystallized by the present situation is Lewiston, Maine, where African Muslims, many from the Bantu tribe, began arriving in 2001 at the rate of 100 a month.

Mohammed Maye, the president of the African Community and Refugee Center in Clarkston, Georgia posted a map of Lewiston on the wall of his office. “Go to Maine,” he advised the Somali immigrants. Abdullahi Abdullahi, the president of the Somali Community Development Organization in Clarkston, upheld this advice by telling his fellow countrymen that, unlike Georgia, Maine has terribly cold winters, but “the welfare system is better.”

Lewiston, indeed, was better. The small town in Maine with a population of 30,000 provided welfare to anyone in need, with the state picking up half the tab. Recipients, including the Muslim refugees, were allowed a generous five years of assistance before their benefits became terminated, and extensions for several additional years on the public dole were not difficult to obtain. Single parents could stay on welfare and go to college.

Public housing was also available, although, with the influx of Somalis, the housing projects became packed to capacity. Many of the new project dwellers were single Somali mothers with large broods of children. Those who are unable to obtain public housing were handed Section 8 vouchers, which the federal government provided to subsidize their rent in private apartments.The northern city with its frigid climate became welfare heaven for the arrivals from the vast desert areas of northern Africa.

The newcomers have shown scant interest in securing employment. When Renee Bernier, the president of the Lewiston city council, offered to hire 30 Somalis at the rate of $8 to $10 an hour to hold warning signs at construction sites, few displayed interest. The handful, who did apply, said that they were only willing to work between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The Somali population of Lewiston now exceeds 40,000.  H/T MICHAEL

Mexican Jihad

As the United States considers the Islamic jihadi threats confronting it from all sides, it might do well to focus on its southern neighbor, Mexico, which has been targeted by Islamists and jihadists, who, through a number of tactics — from engaging in da’wa, converting Mexicans to Islam, to smuggling and the drug cartel, to simple extortion, kidnappings and enslavement — have been subverting Mexico in order to empower Islam and sabotage the US.According to a 2010 report, “Close to home: Hezbollah terrorists are plotting right on the US border,” which appeared in the NY Daily News:

Mexican authorities have rolled up a Hezbollah network being built in Tijuana, right across the border from Texas and closer to American homes than the terrorist hideouts in the Bekaa Valley are to Israel. Its goal, according to a Kuwaiti newspaper that reported on the investigation: to strike targets in Israel and the West. Over the years, Hezbollah — rich with Iranian oil money and narcocash — has generated revenue by cozying up with Mexican cartels to smuggle drugs and people into the US In this, it has shadowed the terrorist-sponsoring regime in Tehran, which has been forging close ties with Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, who in turn supports the narcoterrorist organization FARC, which wreaks all kinds of havoc throughout the region.

Another 2010 article appearing in the Washington Times asserts that, “with fresh evidence of Hezbollah activity just south of the border [in Mexico], and numerous reports of Muslims from various countries posing as Mexicans and crossing into the United States from Mexico, our porous southern border is a national security nightmare waiting to happen.” This is in keeping with a recent study done by Georgetown University, which revealed that the number of immigrants from Lebanon and Syria living in Mexico exceeds 200,000. Syria, along with Iran, is one of Hezbollah’s strongest financial and political supporters, and Lebanon is the immigrants’ country of origin.

A jihadist cell in Mexico was recently found to have a weapons cache of 100 M-16 assault rifles, 100 AR-15 rifles, 2,500 hand grenades, C4 explosives and antitank munitions. The weapons, it turned out, had been smuggled by Muslims from Iraq. According to this report, “obvious concerns have arisen concerning Hezbollah’s presence in Mexico and possible ties to Mexican drug trafficking organizations (DTO’s) operating along the US — Mexico border.”

As far back as 2005, an article entitled “Islam is gaining a Foothold in Chiapas” showcased the inroads of Islam in Mexico:

Long a bastion of Catholicism, southern Mexico is quickly turning into a battleground for soul-savers. Islam, too, is gaining a foothold and the indigenous Mayans are converting by the hundreds. The Mexican government is worried about a culture clash in their own backyard… Muslim women in headscarves have become a common sight…

“Life is cheap” in impoverished Mexico. You want a job? Fine, pray five times a day, etc…

Kidnappings, as part of a drug cartel or as part of a jihadist operation, which legitimizes crimes such as kidnapping and child slavery, have become increasingly common. To convert non-Muslims to their cause, Islamists also whip up — and then exploit — a sense of “grievance” against the “white man.”

In addition, according to counterterrorism experts in this report, Islamic terrorists blend in better with Mexicans than with Europeans, thereby enabling them to sneak into the US across the southwest border. This Muslim cleric, for example, discusses how easy it is to smuggle a briefcase containing anthrax from Mexico into America, thereby killing at least some 330,000 Americans in a single hour.

Similarly, Michael Braun, formerly assistant administrator and chief of operations at the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), said that the Iran-backed Lebanese group has long been involved in narcotics and human trafficking in South America; however, it is relying on Mexican narcotics syndicates that control access to transit routes into the US Hezbollah relies on “the same criminal weapons smugglers, document traffickers and transportation experts as the drug cartels.”

Only a few months ago, Washington announced that FBI and DEA agents disrupted a plot to commit a “significant terrorist act in the United States,” tied to Iran with roots in Mexico. The increased violence — including beheadings, Islam’s signature trademark — is even more indicative that Islamists are well ensconced in Mexico’s drug cartel.

The threat is not limited to Hezbollah; back in 2006, according to an ISN, “Mexican authorities investigated the activities of the Murabitun [a da'wa, or missionary-outreach, organization named after historic jihadists along Spain's borders] due to reports of alleged immigration and visa abuses involving the group’s European members and possible radicals, including al-Qaeda.”

Even innocuous reports, such as this Muslim article, are cause for concern: “Today, most Mexican Islamic organizations focus on grassroots da’wa. These small organizations are most effective at the community level, going from village to village and speaking directly to the people.” Although this may not sound problematic, the strain of Islam being spread by many of these da’wa organizations is the radical, “Salafist,” anti-American variety. Here, for instance, is a popular Egyptian TV cleric saying that while Muslims must never smile to non-Muslims — who, as “infidels,” are by nature the enemy — they are free to do so if the Muslim is engaged in da’wa, trying to win over the infidel into the fold of Islam, especially if the potential convert can help empower Islam in any way.

These are but a few of the many reports on Islam in Mexico. The evidence that many Islamists in Mexico are plotting against the US, using all means — such as drug trafficking, which is not forbidden in Sharia law if it serves to empower Islam — is overwhelming.

Under various methods — from the violent to the subversive to the exploitative — Islam allows Muslims to lie and commit other duplicitous acts in the furtherance of Islam. Taqiyya [dissimulation] permits Hezbollah and other Islamists To engage in Mexico’s drug cartel, just as “pious” members of the Taliban in Afghanistan pursued the heroin trade. Aside from sheer violence, justified as “jihad,” or holy war, tactics pursued by Mexico’s Islamists include:

▪ Kidnappings and enslavement, for which Mexico is already notorious. Sharia permits kidnapping, and even enslaving the infidel, in this situation, any non-Muslim in Mexico. The Quran not only approves of this, but allows male jihadists to have sex with female captives of war (Sura 4, verse 3). Here, for example, is a Muslim politician trying to legalize the institution of “sex-slavery.”

▪ Extortion and blackmail, features of the Mexican landscape, are also permissible in Islam. According to Sharia, during jihad, Muslims are permitted to hold for ransom infidels to be sold back for large amounts of money. Here, for instance, is a popular Egyptian sheikh saying that the Islamic world’s problem is that it has stopped plundering and enslaving its infidel neighbors. He even boasts that under true Sharia, he could go to the local market and “buy” a female “sex-slave.”

In using subversive elements for da’wa, Muslims might comfortably use false arguments to turn Mexicans against their northern neighbors. They might, for instance, argue that Islam is a religion of “racial equality,” whereas Christianity is the “white man’s” religion, imposed on their ancestors by racist whites who sought to keep them “impoverished” beyond the border. Islamist strategies in Mexico amount to trying to win the unbelievers over to their side, whether through conversion or just cooperation. For those who refuse to cooperate, they are infidels to be used in any way that seems fit.

The chairman of First Solar, a company that received approximately $3.1 billion in federal loan guarantees under President Obama’s green energy initiative, said Wednesday that the majority of the jobs created by the company have been overseas.

Speaking at a hearing of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, First Solar chairman Michael Ahearn admitted that most of the company’s full-time jobs are held overseas.

“In sheer numbers, most of our full-time employees are outside the U.S,” Ahearns said.

The U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs is once again diddling with the ultra-massive U.S. sovereignty and communitarian wealth giveaways known as the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea Treaty (UNCLOS or LOST). Whenever one sees “communitarian,” one may think “global communist.” Neo-Marxist Saboteur Barack Obama‘s State and Defense Departments (including numerous compromised, NATO-head officers) are pressuring the Senate to adopt this travesty after years of resistance dating back to Ronald Reagan’s presidency. If the committee goes forward with it, they could choose either of two paths: 1. the honorable and traditional congressional method of holding hearings, or 2. “fast-track” it, in order to slip voting through with as little light of day or time for the People to react, as possible. The Senate is still Harry Reid’s crypto-Marxist Senate, and this committee’s chairman is John Kerry, so LOST may pop up for a vote like a rapist plunging from behind the bushes in the dark, within the next few days. We hope Mr. Wallace does not mind our excerpting it at length.

The Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) was first conceived in the early 1980’s by the United Nations as a method for them to gain control of most of the activities on, over, and beneath the ocean’s surface. The fundamental premise of the Law of the Sea Treaty is that the resources on the ocean’s floor belong to all of the people of the world and those resources should be protected and controlled by an international organization like the United Nations. Although that may sound like a noble goal, in order to achieve this goal, the United Nations has created a multinational, bureaucratic creature called the International Seabed Authority (“ISA”) and charged this entity with regulating and controlling the world’s mineral resources in the oceans. When President Reagan was president, he objected to several of the treaty’s provisions that would have resulted in surrendering our nation’s sovereignty and refused to sign it, but that didn’t stop the proponents of world government and the New World Order. In 1994, the “progressives (a nice term used to describe communists) at the United Nations decided to keep moving forward with their plans by creating a diversion they called an “Agreement of Implementation” that was supposed to address the concerns of the United States and other industrialized nations. It didn’t change anything. This new agreement was all smoke and mirrors, but our Oxford educated, globalist president Bill Clinton signed it anyway. The Senate, however, refused to ratify it, as required by the U.S. Constitution. Proposed regulations in the new Law of the Sea Treaty will require private companies that want to conduct exploration and mining operations in international waters to submit substantial application fees to the UN’s International Seabed Authority (ISA), which in turn would allow the ISA to use these application fees to partially pay for its own mining efforts through its own mining subsidy, called the Enterprise. Corporations from member nations operating in international waters would have to pay annual fees and even be taxed to pay a percentage of their profits to the ISA. These corporations would also be expected to share their mining and navigational technology with third world countries to ensure that opportunities aren’t restricted to more technologically advanced. This is insane. The decision to grant or to withhold mining permits in international waters would now be decided by unelected, globalist bureaucrats at the United Nation’s International Seabed Authority (ISA). The Treaty would essentially give the United Nations, a notoriously corrupt, anti-American, anti-capitalist and un-democratic organization, the power to assert control over 70% of the earth’s surface. Using the regulations issued by the ISA, the United Nations would now be given the power to levy international fees and taxes on American companies. Mining approvals would be highly politicized and could discriminate against American operators. The United Nations would be given the power to regulate ocean research, exploration, fishing, marine environmental protection and navigation. They could even impose production quotas and licensing requirements on American fishermen operating in international waters. The United Nations, through the ISA, would be given the power to create an international court system to render and enforce its judgments! This new system would lie outside the jurisdiction of the U.S. legal system and the U.S. Constitution, leaving American citizens and businesses at the mercy of international tribunals whose corrupt UN bureaucrats could subject them to Sharia Law or other non-Western legal traditions. The Treaty calls for prosperous member nations like the United States to provide financial and technical assistance not only to developing countries, but also to “people who have not attained full independence or other self-governing status” (codeword for groups such as the Palestinians). The Treaty would do irreparable harm to U.S. military and intelligence operations and would force the United States to hand over proprietary technology to less developed third-world countries, many of whom are actively hostile to U.S. interests. Giving up the U.S. Navy’s long established primary mission of “maintaining freedom of the seas for all” and handing it over to a historically corrupt organization like the United Nations should be unthinkable. The most important objection concerns Article 314 of The Law of the Sea Treaty (located in Part XVII) that empowers the LOST member Assembly, dominated by nations of the developing world, to amend the terms of the treaty over the objection of any individual member state. In other words, the terms of the treaty could be changed significantly and the United States would have to abide by those changes without the U.S. Senate having the opportunity to consent to the changes. This undermines U.S. sovereignty and is clearly unconstitutional. The Law of the Sea Treaty creates a new United Nations’ worldwide bureaucracy that will create a whole new restrictive system of destructive environmental regulations that would be costly and counter-productive to American businesses, while at the same time, handing over the hard-earned, American taxpayer money to many of our enemies. Senator Harry Reid has indicated that he might reintroduce the treaty in the Senate for a vote in the near future and Barack Obama, our socialist President, who is a long term advocate of the Law of the Sea Treaty, has indicated that he will sign it if passed by the Senate.

The Coalition to Preserve American Sovereignty has brought an open letter to the senate, coordinated by Frank Gaffney, with the signatures of nineteen notables. This letter is featured in The Minority Report, which would also expose a separate, false-hood front group calling itself The American Sovereignty Campaign, purporting itself as pro-sovereignty while lobbying for LOST. The American Sovereignty Campaign – interesting – almost as if someone’s email or telephone conversations were caught. Oh well. It is a common practice for immoral Marxists and other ideological movements sponsored by the kleptocratic central bank complex to either attempt to control their opposition, or to set up an operation posing as a faction of it.

Communists in Congress? (1) Hansen Clarke (D) Michigan

Recently, Florida Rep. Allen West received considerable flak after claiming that there were up to eighty “communists” in the US Congress.

Rep. West was certainly correct in spirit. There are dozens of members of the US Congress who have strong ties to one or more of America’s several influential Marxist organizations.

This is the first of a series of profiles of Congress members with documentable connections to the US hard left.

Hansen Clarke (D) Michigan:

Michigan freshman Democratic Congressman Hansen Clarke represents the state’s 13th District and serves on the Homeland Security and Science, Space and Technology committees.

A former Chief of Staff to Michigan’s pro-Marxist Congressman John Conyers, Hansen Clarke seems to be following in his former mentor’s political footsteps.

Over many years, Congressman Clarke has openly aligned himself with the highly influential Detroit local of the US’ largest Marxist organization, Democratic Socialists of America.

Reaffirming a relationship that began several years ago, Congressman Clarke personally presented awards at Greater Detroit DSA’s 12th annual Frederick Douglass-Eugene V. Debs Dinner on October 1st at UAW Local 600 in Dearborn, Michigan.

Clarke presented Congressional citations to far leftist, the Reverend Ed Rowe and to the Restaurant Opportunities Center-Michigan.

Other speakers included an event regular, Metropolitan Detroit AFL-CIO President Saundra Williams and newly appointed DSA National Director Maria Svart.

Hansen Clarke’s relationship with DSA goes back to at least 2002.

In that year, Greater Detroit Democratic Socialists of America contributed to the primary campaign of Hansen Clarke, who ran against incumbent State Senator Ray Murphy in the 1st District. The local did some early fundraising and conducted a postcard campaign on Clarke’s behalf to its members in the 1st Senate District. Hansen Clarke achieved an upset victory, winning comfortably by thirteen points.

Greater Detroit DSA boasts a “simple but effective electoral strategy.”

We endorse progressive candidates in competitive races where the focused efforts of a small group such as ours can tip the balance in favor of the progressive candidate. This strategy has served us well in electing state representatives such as Steve Bieda, Alma Wheeler Smith, John Espinoza, Aldo Vagnozzi, and Fred Miller, and state senators such as Gilda Jacobs and Hansen Clarke.

Hansen Clarke also has a close working relationship with one of the US’ most extreme Marxist-Leninist organizations – the pro-North Korea/Cuban Workers World Party.

In 2008 Hansen Clarke worked closely with Detroit leaders of the Workers World Party on the house foreclosures issue. Clarke drafted and sponsored SB 1306 with long time WWP collaborator Reverend Ed Rowe of Central United Methodist Church, a co–initiator of the Moratorium NOW! organization. Rowe further pledged ongoing support to the coalition, whose office is in his church. Most key leaders and personnel in Moratorium NOW! are also Workers World Party activists. Writing in Workers World on Jan. 14, 2008, Detroit WWP leader Kris Hamel discussed the origins of Moratorium NOW!

“More than 400,000 jobs have been lost in the state since 2001. Now, that economic crisis has extended nationwide… According to a report issued on June 5 by the Mortgage Bankers Association, approximately one of every 11 mortgages in the U.S. was past due or in foreclosure at the end of March… Falling home values have left many homeowners with mortgages in excess of the value of their homes… The Moratorium NOW! Coalition to Stop Foreclosures and Evictions is organizing around the state to win passage of SB 1306, a two-year moratorium introduced into the Michigan Legislature by state Sen. Hansen Clarke. In 2007, activists with the Michigan Emergency Committee Against War and Injustice began to popularize the idea of a foreclosure moratorium based on the emergency powers invested in the governor by the state constitution during times of disaster. Demonstrations were held at the state capitol in Lansing demanding that Gov. Jennifer Granholm declare a state of economic emergency and impose a moratorium to stop foreclosures and evictions.“

Hansen Clarke became heavily involved in the WWP campaign, in 2008, when a Detroit family, the Maxwells, were faced with losing their home. According to the Workers World, “the dumpster was returned to the Maxwell home on the morning of April 23, one week after “community activists” successfully emptied it and moved the family’s belongings back into their foreclosed home on Detroit’s near northwest side.” An emergency demonstration called by the WWP front Moratorium NOW!, convened at the home in the afternoon in solidarity with the Maxwells and “all those facing foreclosure in Detroit.”

Activists with another WWP front, the Michigan Emergency Committee Against War and Injustice, theMichigan Welfare Rights Organization, ACORN, and other groups participated. An emergency motion was filed in Detroit’s 36th District Court to set aside the judgment for eviction entered by the court on Feb. 28. On April 25, community activists packed the courtroom with the Maxwell family as Judge E. Lynise Bryant-Weekes heard arguments on why the family should be allowed to stay in their home. After the hearing, as supporters gathered in the corridor outside the courtroom, Maureen Taylor of Michigan Welfare Rights Organization stated: “This proves that poor people have no rights, that if you can’t afford an attorney, so be it. Poor people cannot get justice in a courtroom. We need to keep fighting.”

Detroit WWP leader Abayomi Azikiwe of Michigan Emergency Committee Against War and Injustice, told Workers World: “This is precisely why we need a moratorium. There are thousands of families like the Maxwells all throughout Metro Detroit. We need to step up the struggle to force the state legislature to enact the two-year foreclosure moratorium law. We can’t wait another day.”

MECAWI organizer and WWP leader Jerry Goldberg spoke at the Labor and Community Conference held at United Auto Workers Region 1A on April 26. Sponsored by the Labor Studies Center of the University of Michigan, the conference linked community issues such as health care and the environment to the labor struggle. Goldberg spoke on the foreclosure crisis and motivated the audience to support the two-year mortgage foreclosure moratorium introduced by State Sen. Hansen Clarke. Participants “signed up to support the bill and responded enthusiastically to the developing struggle.”

Abayomi Azikiwe and State Senator Hansen Clarke co-chaired a Town Hall Meeting on June 14, 2008 at UAW Local 7 in Detroit. The event, a statewide organizers’ conference, demanded the passage of Hansens’ SB 1306, imposing a two-year moratorium on foreclosures in Michigan.

Later that year, 72 year-old Rubie Curl-Pinkins was threatened with eviction from her home behind the James Cole Funeral Home on West Grand Boulevard. Hundreds of neighbors, relatives, church members and activists from the Moratorium Now! Coalition, Call ‘em Out, ACORN and State Senator Hansen Clarke and his staff rallied against Countrywide Home Loans/Bank of America, which planned to evict her family July 25, 2008.

The rally went on from 4 PM until almost midnight and was given extensive coverage by Detroit’s Channel Seven, which also interviewed Clarke about his pending bill for a two-year moratorium on foreclosures, S.B. 1306.

Unlike many other Detroiters facing foreclosure, Ms. Pinkins had the money to pay what she owed on the home, obtained through a reverse mortgage. Her attorneys, WWP affiliate Vanessa Fluker and WWP member Jerry Goldberg together with Bruce Feaster of Clarke’s office said Countrywide earlier lured her into a predatory adjustable-rate second mortgage at a 10 percent interest rate.

Hansen Clarke’s ties to the Workers World Party went beyond the anti-foreclosure campaign.

In 2009, Hansen Clarke was listed as an endorser of the Committee to Defend Diane Bukowski and Freedom of the Press.

Detroit radical journalist Diane Bukowski, was convicted May 1 2009, on two felony charges stemming from her involvement as a reporter on the scene of a deadly police chase in Detroit on November 4, 2008. Michigan radicals from several Marxist organizations, including Democratic Socialists of America,Communist Party USA, Solidarity and especially the Workers World Party formed the committee to defend their comrade.

Other listed Committee endorsers included Hansen Clarke’s former boss John Conyers, Communist Party USA supporter John Woodford, Democratic Socialists of America members Phil Schloop and Al Benchich, Solidarity member Peter Solenberger and Workers World Party members David Sole, Sandra Hines, Cheryl LaBash, Bryan Pfeifer and WWP affiliated Detroit City Council member JoAnn Watson.

Clarke is also affiliated with Detroit’s Maurice & Jane Sugar Law Center for Economic & Social Justice – named after the late pro-communist labor lawyer Maurice Sugar and affiliated with the Communist Party initiated National Lawyers Guild.

On November 18, 2010, the Maurice & Jane Sugar Law Center presented “The Maurice Sugar Voice for Justice Award” to former Obama “Green Jobs Czar” Van Jones, “a Human Rights Activist and Green-Jobs Advocate,” at the United Way for Southeastern Michigan, 660 Woodward Ave.

Members of the Honorary Host Committee included Hansen Clarke; David Elsila, Retired Editor, UAW Solidarity Magazine and a DSA member; Bob King, President, UAW International Vice President and a DSA supporter; Claudia Morcom, Retired Wayne County Circuit Court Judge and a DSA and Communist Party affiliate; Hasan Newash, Palestine Office of Michigan and a Communist Party affiliate; Saundra Williams, President, Metro Detroit AFL-CIO and a DSA affiliate and the Hon. Mr. Chaffetz: I want to quote President Obama in his first remarks as President of the United States. He said, quote, “Transparency in the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency. I also hold myself as President to a new standard of openness. But the mere fact that you have the legal power to keep something secret does not mean you should always use it. The Freedom of Information Act is perhaps the most powerful instrument we have in making our government honest and transparent, and holding it accountable, and I expect members of my administration, not simply to live up to the letter, but also the spirit of the law.

The government should not keep information confidential merely because public officials might be embarrassed by disclosure, because errors and failures might be revealed or because of speculative or abstract fears,” end quote. This country should be embarrassed by what’s happening in fast and furious. My challenge to members on both sides of the aisle is to stand up and have the integrity to say that we have a dead U.S. agent; we have a department of justice that lied to congress. Where are the guts in this body to stand up and say, “we’re not going to put up with that. ” We’re going to demand these documents be provided to the congress. We know because the inspector general within the Department of Justice has said they have 80,000 documents, they’ve given congress about 7,000 of those documents. This is the test of principle, this is the test of integrity, and when you can’t stand up and take on your own party, that’s a lack of guts. This congress has got to stand up for itself, and demand that these documents be released. I would encourage members on both sides of the aisle, at the very least, vote for this amendment. I can’t imagine any reason why anybody would deny the passage of this amendment. We’re not going to allow taxpayer dollars to be used to lie to congress, unfortunately we have been lied to. That’s the reason why we have to do this amendment. It’s embarrassing that you have to even get to this point, but, madam chair, Brian Terry’s family expected the integrity of — expected, the integrity of this body demands and we cannot rest until we get to the bottom of that, regardless whether it’s republican or democrat. You can make the case that part of this started with President Bush, we don’t know what’s in these documents, but the separation of powers, it’s imperative that we get to the bottom of this and that we hold people accountable. Not just the lowest level of people down at the A.T.F., they’ve been dismissed, they’ve been harassed, and thank goodness for those whistleblowers who stood up and did the right thing. But the senior level, the senior people in the department of justice, they have not been held accountable. President Obama said in these remarks that he would. March 5, he went on Univision and promised that they would. It has not happened, and if we get stonewalling on the other side of the aisle, without your support, we will do a disservice to this country, we will do a disservice to this body and we will not get to the truth, and I promise you, when that becomes a republican president, I will stand with you and demand the openness and transparency that this body deserves. I’ve done it; I’ve challenged my own party, I have the guts, I have the fortitude to do the right thing. I urge passage of this amendment. I appreciate Chairman Issa, Representative Gowdy, Mr. Gosar, Mr. Farenthold, there’s so many people in this body. I appreciate my colleagues from South Carolina who are passionate about this issue. I encourage all members to vote in favor of this amendment and I yield back the balance of my time.”

Nebraska GOP Senate race turns toward Fast and Furious over frontrunner’s support of Holder

Nebraska’s GOP Senate primary frontrunner Jon Bruning supported Attorney General Eric Holder’s nomination and confirmation back in 2009. Bruning, Nebraska’s current attorney general, was one of a group of Republican state attorneys general who pushed to get Holder confirmed at the beginning of the Obama administration.

Bruning and his campaign remain mum when consistently asked if he continues to support Holder as attorney general in the wake of Operation Fast and Furious, especially with Holder’s demonstrable failure to comply with a lawfully issued congressional subpoena. For more than two months, Bruning’s campaign hasn’t returned The Daily Caller’s requests for comment on the issue. On Friday, Bruning spokeswoman Natalie Krings tried to bolster Bruning’s Second Amendment credentials but still wouldn’t answer whether he thinks Holder should resign over Fast and Furious.

“No one has fought harder than Jon Bruning to protect the 2nd Amendment,” Krings said in an email to TheDC. “Jon has an A rating from the NRA and is a life endowment member. As Attorney General, he worked with the legislature to pass conceal-carry legislation, helped pass a Castle doctrine and has fought attempts to ban handgun ownership across the country.”

Bruning’s silence about Holder doesn’t sit well with Nebraska’s former Attorney General Don Stenberg, who’s one of a couple of Republicans running against him. Stenberg has been extra vocal about Fast and Furious over the course of the campaign and on Friday morning, he was endorsed by the pro-Second Amendment group Gun Owners of America (GOA).

“When asked by an Omaha radio station why he supported Eric Holder, Bruning said that Holder had the votes anyway and he wanted to appear reasonable,” Stenberg said in statement. “In other words, Bruning supported Eric Holder because Bruning wanted to go along to get along. That is not what we need in the United States Senate today.”

“If someone like Eric Holder is nominated to the United States Supreme Court, I will vote no even if the vote is 99 to 1 and I am the one,” Stenberg added.

GOA vice chairman Tim Macy said Stenberg “is a strong proponent of the right to keep and bear arms and he has been a leading critic of U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s role in Fast & Furious, where the U.S. government helped gun runners smuggle guns south of the border – a program which has led to hundreds of deaths, including two U.S. federal agents.”

It’s unclear where current state Rep. Deb Fischer, another GOP candidate who’s quickly risen in the polls, stands on Holder or Fast and Furious. Her campaign didn’t immediately respond to TheDC’s requests for comment on Friday morning after GOA endorsed Stenberg. But Fischer recently picked up the support of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who demanded Holder be removed from office months ago.

“I stand with the members of Congress who are calling for Holder’s resignation,” Palin wrote in a Facebook post late last year. “I stand with the family members of Brian Terry who are demanding transparency and accountability. Mr. President, where do you stand?”

Rising political superstar Marco Rubio courted three high profile Hispanic Democratic lawmakers last month in an attempt to gain support for his alternative DREAM Act proposal, legislation which his spokesman told The Daily Caller would include a path to permanent residency and citizenship for some illegal immigrants. Rubio met in late April with Illinois Rep. Luis Gutierrez, Texas Rep. Charles Gonzalez and New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez, all Democrats. The meeting was described as a private gathering to discuss what their immigration policy aims had in common. The result, according to sources who spoke to The Daily Caller, was support from Gutierrez, opposition from Menendez, and a wait-and-see attitude from Gonzalez. Speaking to a group of supporters in Chicago on April 6, Gutierrez offered his conditional support for Rubio’s yet-to-be-unveiled DREAM Act approach. “I will support it because it will stop deportations, and if it stops deportations I will support it. It lets ‘DREAMers’ get a work permit — lets them get a driver’s license. They get a non-immigrant visa. There’s no road to citizenship. It’s temporary. It has to be renewed. It’s nothing permanent.” Gutierrez also took a swipe at President Obama for failing to act on his own, with or without Congress, to change the status of illegal immigrants brought into the United States by their parents. “There is nothing in Rubio’s proposal,” he said, “that the President of the United States could not administratively do today.” Keep reading
